Years 3–4

Building the Foundation

This is when learning habits form. We work on reading comprehension, writing structure, number sense, and early reasoning — building confidence in class participation alongside core academic skills. The group format helps students practise speaking up in a safe, structured environment.

Deepening Understanding

The jump to secondary school is significant. We extend skills across subjects, develop analytical writing, and introduce the frameworks for critical thinking and independent research that secondary school demands. Students at this level benefit enormously from the rigour and social accountability of the group format.

Years 8–10

Consolidating for Senior School

These years set the trajectory. We focus on essay structure, subject-specific reasoning, time management under pressure, and the independent thinking that Years 11–12 will require in full. Students leave this cohort ready for the increased demands of senior school — not scrambling to catch up.

Setting Students Up for Scholarship Exams

Scholarship and selective-entry exams reward exactly the skills Think Big builds every week — critical reasoning, written argument, analytical reading, and the ability to perform under pressure. For students in Years 4–9 sitting ACER or school-specific scholarship exams, our group program is a strong preparation foundation.

Unlike one-off cram courses, Think Big develops these capabilities over time. Students who've been in our program for a term or more enter scholarship exams with better thinking habits, more confident writing, and a proven ability to work through unfamiliar problems — the qualities examiners look for.
